I think it’s really important to study history, here’s why:
- It helps you to think bigger. Actually the day to day news is usually not important, but the underlying trends is what is important. We tend to have a bias towards events that happened more recently or current events, and legacy media is in decline so they are trying to attract more attention by making things seem even more disastrous, urgent and important than they are.
- Everything that is happening now is related to what happened before, it’s important to understand the flow of history
- Think in a bigger perspective is helpful because it puts the present into perspective.
- History is happening right now but in slow motion.
- You can learn many lessons from history – things repeat.
- You can also learn that many things from history could have turned out totally differently, thats the same with what happened now.
