I am learning Chinese but looking for fun ways to learn Chinese, rather than just blindly memorising vocabulary or doing exercises in a book, so that I stay interested:
I think the best way to learn a language is to have fun. It needs a lot of time, and if you don’t enjoy you’re not going to keep going.
Fun Ways to Learn Chinese
Here are some fun ways to learn Chinese
- Find interesting Chinese conversations and dialogues and translate it and explain it
- Browse reddit in Chinese and write what I find
- Find useful ways to use Chinese
- Explore Chinese social media
- Read a very complicated Chinese book and explain it
- I will find interesting material in Chinese, then translate it and explain it.
- Find a good Chinese teacher
- Translate interesting Chinese songs
- Write articles in Chinese
- Give speeches or talking in Chinese
I think that the first one – finding interesting Chinese dialogues and interviews will be the fastest way to learn because it will be most interesting and also useful.
The problem is that it’s hard to find conversations that are also written in text, and its slow to translate characters from subtitles but I think thats the best way. If theres a word I don’t understand I can just write it
So I’m starting with this one which is a conversation with Yuan Tengfei – who is a history teacher. I will write my notes here.
