Deciding what kind of content to make online depends on several factors, including your interests, skills, target audience, and your goals for creating content. Here are some steps you can take to help you decide:
- Identify your niche: Consider your area of expertise or the topics you are most passionate about. You can use online tools like Google Trends or social media platforms to identify popular topics and search queries related to your niche.
- Determine your target audience: Define who your content is aimed at, their age range, interests, and other relevant demographics. This will help you tailor your content to your audience’s needs and preferences.
- Research your competition: Look at what other content creators in your niche are doing, what type of content they’re creating, and how they’re presenting it. This can help you identify gaps in the market and opportunities to differentiate your content.
- Consider the format of your content: Will you be creating videos, blog posts, podcasts, or social media content? Consider which formats best suit your skills and preferences, as well as what formats are most popular with your target audience.
- Set goals: Decide what you want to achieve with your content. Is it to build your personal brand, grow your audience, drive traffic to your website, or monetize your content? Having clear goals can help you create a focused and effective content strategy.
Remember, creating content is an ongoing process of experimentation and iteration. Don’t be afraid to try new things and adjust your approach based on what resonates with your audience.
Why are you making content?ย For me, I want to grow my business and wealth and income.
One answer is to make lots of content and see what works well.
Another is to focus it on your interests and what you think you can be best at.
What topics are you interested in? Finance, biographies, writing (like this blog), podcasts, videos about certain things. I have a lot of interests.
Two options:
- Just pick one niche and one content type and do that consistently then expand.
- Just make as much content as possible on many types of media.
Right now I am doing: – podcasts, articles on this blog, occaisional videos on youtube, some interviews, some linkedin posts.
What looks like the optimum content creation plan?
- Obviously doing as much content as good at the highest level will bring the best rewards, but doing just one channel well will be enough.
Some principles:
- Collaborating with influencers is a great way to grow fast.
- Focusing on one niche is important and can bring a lot of benefits, instead of going into loads of different niches
- Posting consistently is very important
- Quality and quantity – one great amazing video can go viral
- I should focus on the most important part and build a team around me to do the rest
- Ideation is really important and one of my biggest strengths that I should focus on more
Which content can I make that are best?ย
- I think I can make pretty good videos
- I can do pretty good articles
- I can do all types pretty well, and I can keep improving at them all.
Instead of trying to do everything, focus on one medium at a time and get really good at it.
So the next step:
– 1) Spend more time in ideation –
– 2) Set goals to post and to grow each channel
– 3) Work with others – as collaborators, and to help create content
– 4) Spend more time on it and make it grow really fast
I am going to make a more detailed plan in a following article
