I am not a doctor and this article may not be accurate, but this is my conclusion based on my experiences. I believe the information in this article can help people manage their condition, prevent it, or maybe even possibly reverse it. Of course you are advised to contact your healthcare professional.
My personal belief is that Parkinsons is misunderstand and that it can be prevent, managed, and maybe even reversed. And if you have Parkinsons, or someone around you has, then it’s important to take massive action to fight it.
My story:
1) Finger Twitching:
I underwent a quite stressful period of work.
In that period I was overworking, under-sleeping, and generally stressed, and a bit isolated.
I started getting a twitch on my left finger.
I researched and one of the things it could be was Parkinsons. This set me back a bit and alarmed me.
After researching online I read a lot of articles about it.
How to reverse Parkinsons disease?
There seemed to be no articles about this. It seems not possible to reverse Parkinsons.
But looking into more, I spent about 3-5 hours to understand the mechanism into how Parkinsons comes about and reading peoples experiences and the cases of people who got Parksinsons and their symptoms for many years before.
My summary was that it seems to come from a lack of dopamine, and changes in the brain – effectively brain cells dying out when not used. The brain is always changing, so some of it becomes unused or basically starts dying.
I was surprised how many people in the world have Parkinsons – 10 million people+
I was also surprised by how few people understand the disease.
It seems that the causes of Parkinsons are likely to increase rapidly in the future, and with an increasing number of people using technology and becoming isolated.
Of course a lot of this depends on what stage of Parkinsons someone is at. Its much easier to reverse or slow it earlier, than later.
So here is how to prevent, manage or maybe even reverse Parkinsons:
1) Set the intention
2) Exercise – is one of the core ways Parkinsons can be slowed
3) Social connection
4) Fun – a lot of it comes from a lack of dopamine and the brain not firing
5) Diet and sleep
6) Meditation
These things are all connected. Exercise, helps with sleep and diet, and helps to make you feel better, which raises dopamine and your enthusiasm for having more fun. These things are all connected.
At the time I was quite alarmed with my twitching, I changed my schedule, went to workout, went on long walks, went to a load of events, and met more people, stepped back from work a bit, and had more fun!
I saw a huge improvement in my mindset and quality of life. A big boost.
Fortunately I found that my finger twitch was not related to Parkinsons but it was much more likely carpal tunnel syndrome. I was overworking and possibly damaged my finger nerve. After some rest, it recovered.
Despite this, I still believe my story, conclusion from research, and belief, might help someone, and so I write this article so there is at least one article, one perspective, and one article of hope, for those who are told that there is no cure.
Of course its important to listen to a healthcare professional. And I attach a video below from Parkinsons foundation:
