Sometimes work is painful. It can be excruciating.
Professionals do the work when they don’t feel like it.
They keep going and they get it done.
But it needs to be balanced with “burning out”. Doing so much work that you can’t keep going anymore and need a prolonged break to recover.
But all work needs a break to recover.
Knowing when to take a break and when to keep going is an art.
Some work is painful, and that pain is part of the process and the journey. Sometimes you have to go through that pain.
It’s actually not a good sign to work when you don’t feel like it. It’s not a badge of honour, it means there’s a problem that needs to be fixed.
Professionals go through that pain, it pushes the pain threshold further, and they experience the paid so they learn from it, and make changes so they don’t have to go through so much pain in the future.
