- Keep the fire of the dream aliveWhen you have a dream and a vision, it’s exciting and motivating at the start. You feel a big wave of energy. But that doesn’t last forever. After that, there are days you will be tired. There are distractions, and other things that you find interesting. Does one day of rest really matter?
It takes a lot of work to make your dreams come true. It takes constant work to keep the dream alive, to keep the vision front and center. It’s important to keep the fire of the dream alive. To find whatever ways and tools you have at your disposal to keep it in your mind. When you have a distraction, or you feel tired, what do you do? What do you say to yourself? You can have images, you can write, you need to retrain your mind and keep focusing, not on the tiredness, not on the distraction, but on your dream. It’s a constant battle, and some days it will be hard. This is part of the journey, learning to keep the fire of the dream alive.
- Write stuff downOne way I’ve found to keep the dream alive, and also to think clearly is to write. Writing out your goals, and struggles, and problems helps to think clearly. It’s relaxing. It’s a way of fighting the battle. And there is something about writing an ambitious goal down that makes it a stronger and more powerful thought. It’s actual, it’s specific. Sometimes when we think, it’s not a fully formed thought.
It’s also powerful to write a question, and then follow the journey to see what you will come up with. Just like chatgpt works by predicting the next word, we have some deep intelligence inside us that we can tap into. When we start writing, the words almost flow automatically, just like chatgpt. We access that infinite intelligence, the sum of all our experiences, the unconscious, the books we read, it comes together, and we produce something that we could never have imagined if we kept it all in our mind.
- Keep at it when you’re doing wellOne problem that many people have is that they start doing well, and then they get comfortable, then they take a rest, because they feel they don’t need to work as much. They no longer have as powerful drive, because what are they working for? Because they have already achieved it.ย But then because they’ve taken a rest, and then their performance goes down, and then further down the line, they start doing worse, then they kick into working hard, then the cycle continues.
I bet you can imagine if you moved to a small apartment and had a small amount in your bank account you would kick into overdrive and work much more than you are working now, and if you had $1 billion USD in cash then you would probably stop working as hard as you do now.
This is a force that keeps people average, they do better than people around them, and they relax. They do worse, then they kick into overdrive.
This is why it’s important to keep the dream alive. It’s important to build momentum, and when you have momentum, keep riding it harder, so you can really push to the next level and achieve them.
- Managing Emotions: Gratitude, Anger, Contentment, FearWe often have a wide range of different emotions in a day. Some emotions are good for us, such as huge drive, some are not as good for us, such as lethargy. It’s important to manage those emotions to help us achieve what we want. We can manage emotions by 1) having the understanding of our emotions, 2) being intentional about what kind of emotions we want, and 3) working to manage how we think and how we feel.
Some emotions I believe to be empowering are:
– Gratitude – what are we grateful for? Ask yourself this question about what are you grateful for? and write down a list of those. This puts you in a powerful state. When you are grateful for what you have, you will appreciate the amount of blessings and amazing stuff that you do have, it helps you to attract more of those things into your life.
– Contentment – I believe being content, satisfied, and happy is a powerful emotion. It’s like, you have enough, you have everything inside of you, you don’t need anything from anyone else. This feeling is powerful because it makes you feel like a giver. What are you going to give to the world? It’s true because you don’t feel needy, which can drive others, and opportunities away, you don’t need anything from anyone else. Instead, they come to you, they need things from you.
– Anger is a powerful emotion too. It puts you in a resourceful state. You have not achieved your potential yet, there are other people who have, you can simultaneously feel the pain of not achieving it, and it can motivate you into action.
– Fear is important because it’s a sign about what you are avoiding, or what kind of battles you need to overcome. Sometimes this is a sign about what emotions are important.
Here are some notes on important things that can help to achieve success.
