Dear Mr. Coward:
I must take exception to your inclusion of 247 backgammon on your list. It does not even remotely reflect the mathematical probabilities of throwing dice. The game is so absurdly rigged that, if it wasn’t so sad and destructive to the game, it would be laughable. It is a great game and should not be treated so shabbily.
I do not wish to insult you, and haven’t tried all the sites on your list, but I have tried some. Unfortunately I have yet to find one that is acceptable. At the risk of seeming boastful, I have played the game for over 70 years, often sitting opposite, and sometimes besting, some of the best players in California. I don’t consider myself an expert, but I do know when a game is grotesquely manipulated.
Thanks Greg, which platform do you recommend is best for playing backgammon online?
I totally agree with your observation on 24/7…As I have played for at least 50 years and can’t understand why someone would want such control over the game…Never in my life have I played a real game where my opponent throws 7 doubles…I take notes on each game…notes include who goes first and doubles and outcome…plus who leaves the game before the conclusion…Never in my life have I ever had such poor sportsmanship…example out of my last 10 games 6 have ended with my TLG …They Left Game
